After using a number other marine pc's available on the market, I soon came to realize that they were not up to the job of being on onboard a boat. I had constant problems with hard drives failing and also corrosion on the motherboards due to the damp salt air environment . I soon realized that the systems i had purchased were nothing but cleverly disguised home or automobile pc's. They were not even sealed from the elements.
The EchoPilot seacomputers really do live up to their name. I am using a core 2 duo system with a solid state hard disk upgrade and so far have had no problems. I have been an it consultant for over 15 years and have great knowledge and experience of computer hardware and I can truly say the guys at EchoPilot have found the solution we all have been looking for.

I purchased an EchoPilot marine pc and have had no problems. I had previously been using another so called marine pc which was very small and tidy but is was not up to scratch. It had an open rear port bay which filled with water as a wave came over .It was a very low powered Celeron system with 512 mb of ram and could not perform the tasks in which I required. it would not even run my navigation software without crashing. My seacomputer platinum marine pc by EchoPilot boots in 6 seconds and can be left on all day without any problems what so ever.

Hi, I just got my media center marine pc from EchoPilot and it's great. I am running the dual vga option so I have my Navigation software running on the 15 " touch screen up front and the entertainment system side running on my widescreen in the cabin. The system even comes with a remote control which I can use anywhere on my boat allowing me to watch or listen to anything I want. I no longer have the need for video and DVD players as all of my media entertainment is stored on the hard drive.
